The Arsenal youngster has broken the silence after an unmemorable might at Wembley.
Bukayo Saka has finally spoken out after the Euro final. The teenage star had an unmemorable night at the Wembley stadium as England lost 3-2 on penalties to Italy after a 1-1 stalemate in the 120 minutes.
Saka was surprisingly selected to take England’s fifth penalty and it was crucial because the Three Lions had already missed back to back spot kicks. The 19-year-old’s penalty was spectacularly saved by Donnarumma that sealed the victory for the Italians.
Unfortunately he and his teammates that missed penalties were subjected to racial abuse especially on social media immediately after the game.
Saka thanked those who offered him support and love during the last few days and urged social media platforms to take action on racial abusers. The UK police has gone on to arrest a number of people in connection with online abuse directed at the England players.
The youngster will need some time off and will likely take more than a month before he returns to the training ground.
