Arsenal 1-2 Chelsea: Defeat at the Emirates as Partey picks up an injury

Arsenal lost the pre-season friendly 2-1 at the Emirates stadium.

Chelsea defeated Arsenal 2-1 in a pre-season match as preparations for the new season continue. Sloppy defending cost Arsenal the game as Tammy Abraham poked home the winner.

Arsenal’s goal came through a headed effort from Granit Xhaka. Xhaka replaced Thomas Partey towards the end of the first half.

Thomas Partey was forced off with a suspected ankle injury and early reports say he could miss between 3-6 weeks.

Arsenal XI that started the game: Leno; Chambers, Holding, Mari, Tierney; Partey, Elneny; Pepe, Smith Rowe, Aubameyang; Lacazette

New signing Ben White was able to make his first appearance in the second half. Arsenal have one more friendly against Tottenham next weekend.
