Report: Five managers Arsenal could hire should Arteta get sacked

Mikel Arteta is under serious pressure from fans and his critics after Arsenal's latest results.

Arsenal have made the worst possible start to a Premier League campaign. The Gunners find themselves bottom of the league after three matches with a -9 goal difference and no goal scored.

The man taking the stick is Mikel Arteta and after Arsenal’s 5-0 defeat at Manchester City he has lost a number of fans and followers who had backed him.

Things aren’t looking good for the club and a decision to part ways with Arteta could come at anytime soon given the results.

Here is a list of five managers who could replace him;

Many have called for Arsenal to appoint Conte as the next manager should Arteta get sacked. Conte has had success at Juventus and Inter Milan as well as in England with Chelsea.

Dubbed a “serial winner” given his successful track record Conte is would transform Arsenal and instill a winning mentality into the team.

2.Brendan Rodgers, (Leicester City)

The Leicester boss is Paddy Power’s favourite for the Arsenal job with a 2/1 odd. Rodgers has improved Leicester ever since he took charge without much funding.

The former Liverpool manager has made the Foxes top four contenders twice and narrowly missed out on both occasions a feat Arsenal have failed to reach since the 2018/19 season under Unai Emery.

3.Graham Potter, (Brighton & Hove Albion)

Another Premier League manager that could come in is Brighton manager Graham Potter. Potter doesn’t have a glittering CV but his experience stands out.

Most notably he guided Swedish club Ostersunds from the third-tier in the Swedish football ladder all the way to the top tier Allsvenskan and an appearance in the Europa League where he famously defeated Arsenal 2-1 at the Emirates.

4.Lucien Favre, (Unattached)

Favre is probably the most realistic name on this list. Formerly the Borussia Dortmund boss the Swiss manager is known for managing teams that are under pressure.

He is known for aiding the development of young players as well as his typically attack minded style that involves patterns of possession and a dynamic tempo, something similar to what Arteta was hired for but has failed to implement properly.

5.Erik ten Hag, (Ajax)

Currently in Netherlands with Ajax, Erik ten Hag has had success with the Amsterdam club winning two league titles and guiding them to a famous Champions League semi-final.

His philosophy is based on fluid free-flowing football popularly known as tiki-taka inspired by the late Johan Cruyff.
