Arsenal finally got their first win of the season after a narrow victory at the Emirates.
Arsenal have finally recorded their first goal and victory of the Premier League season. Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang finished from close range in the 66th minute to give the Gunners their first three points of the campaign.
Here are the three talking points from the match:
Arsenal’s deadline day signing had an impressive debut performance. Solid defensively and not shy of advancing forward, he nearly got himself a goal.
Tomiyasu started out on the right side of a back three alongside Ben White and Gabriel, he was dominant in the air winning seven out of eight aerial duels.
The 22-year-old looks destined to be a mainstay in Arsenal’s starting lineup.
It was a surprise when the team news was announced to see Aaron Ramsdale starting ahead of first choice keeper Bernd Leno.
Ramsdale did not disappoint on his Premier League debut and looked comfortable in goal, fluidly distributing the ball. Two clean sheets in two games for the 23-year-old could see Leno displaced from the starting lineup.
Arsenal had 30 shots (six on target) against Norwich, the most they have had in a Premier League match under Mikel Arteta and the most since 2017.
However, despite the shots and chances created the Gunners only managed to scrap one goal. If Arteta is to turn things around, he has to get the team to be as clinical as possible in front of goal.
The wastefulness and dilly-dallying in the final third has to stop going forward if Arsenal are to get results against tougher opponents.
