Aaron Ramsdale reveals Arsenal’s targets for this season

Arsenal new signing Aaron Ramsdale has opened up on the targets of the North London club this season after having had a difficult 2020/21 campaign that saw them finish in the 8th position on the Premier League table.

Arsenal signed Aaron Ramsdale in the 2021 summer transfer window to bolster their squad for this season as they try to make things right after having failed to qualify for any European competition in two decades. Arsenal’s new signing Aaron Ramsdale has commented on the targets of the North London club which has declined in the last few years.

Aaron Ramsdale has proved all the doubters wrong in the first few matches that he has played so far as he has in no time disposed off Bernd Leno to become Mikel Arteta’s first choice goalkeeper and the Englishman recently had an interview in which he talked about their targets for this 2021/22 campaign.

Arsenal made significant investment in the summer transfer window and the fans expect the club to have a better campaign than the one last season and one of their new stars, Ramsdale claims that the target of the squad as a whole is to get back European football even if it’s UEFA Europa League for starters. Ramsdale however admits that they are a young team and that the performances on the team haven’t been impressive so far.

“I think the club has been in a difficult situation for a while. Obviously the performances on the pitch haven’t been great; the club have been in a transition period.” said Aaron Ramsdale as per The Mirror.

“You can sense it [the history] as soon as you walk through the doors that the club isn’t happy where they are. We want European football.”

“It’s a young team so it’s step by step; it might have to be the Europa League and then the Champions League, but we want to get back there. You understand the pressures that brings, but it’s an enjoyable challenge, and when the highs are high they’re really high.”
