Arteta reveals who is to blame for Arsenal’s defeat to Tottenham Hotspur

Arsenal lost 3-0 to Tottenham Hotspur last night and gunners boss Mikel Arteta has opened up about who's to blame for this loss in this big important game.

Arsenal faced Tottenham Hotspur last night away from home and they lost the match 3-0 thanks to goals from Harry Kane (2) and Son. The gunners came into this match with the hope that they would beat Tottenham Hotspur and qualify for the UEFA Champions League but they were however stunned by their arch rivals and Mikel Arteta has spoken out on who is to blame for this big loss.

Arsenal started the match pretty well as they made the home crowd nervous when they boxed Tottenham Hotspur into its own half where it even failed to play out of the back before losing the ball. Things however started to change for the gunners when Tottenham Hotspur finally went on the offensive and got a penalty, and scored. Things then went from bad to worse for Mikel Arteta’s men when Rob Holding was given a red card after receiving a second yellow card cementing their defeat at the hands of their North London rivals.

Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta was later asked whether he would put some of the blame on his players after the game but he however said his proud of the them and heavily hinted that he believes they lost the game due to the referee’s incompetence.

“With my players? No. I’m so proud of my players. You can ask the referee to come in front of the camera & explain his decisions. It’s a shame because such a beautiful game was destroyed today.” Mikel Arteta told Sky Sports.
