Brighton make a statement on Moises Caicedo possibly joining Arsenal

Arsenal are interested in Moises Caicedo and they have already had one bid rejected by Brighton & Hove Albion, and the club's coach has made a statement on the future of the Ecuadorian international.

Brighton & Hove Albion manager Roberto De Zerbi has spoken out about the potential transfer of midfielder Moises Caicedo to Arsenal. The 21-year-old Ecuadorian has been linked with a move to the Gunners, but Brighton have so far rejected their offer for the player.

De Zerbi was asked about the situation during an interview with ITV, and he made it clear that he hopes Caicedo will stay at Brighton for the remainder of the season. He also acknowledged that mistakes can be made in life, and that all parties involved must work together to find the best solution for everyone.

“We hope he stays with us for the rest of the season, but this a question for the club and Moises. Moises is a good guy. In life you can make mistakes. We will see the best solution for the club, for him and for us.” said De Zerbi.

The Italian manager went on to praise Caicedo, saying that he is a “good guy” and that he has been impressed by his attitude and commitment since joining Brighton in January 2021. He also said that he believes Caicedo has a bright future ahead of him if he continues to work hard and develop his game.

De Zerbi’s comments suggest that Brighton are open to selling Caicedo if they receive an acceptable offer from Arsenal or any other club. However, it is clear that De Zerbi would prefer for him to stay at Brighton until at least the end of the season, as he believes it would be beneficial for both parties involved.

Ultimately, it will be up to Caicedo himself to decide where his future lies. He may opt to stay at Brighton in order to continue developing under De Zerbi’s guidance, or he may choose to take up Arsenal’s offer if they make an improved bid for him in the coming days. Whatever decision he makes, it is clear that De Zerbi wishes him all the best in his career going forward.
