The Premier League games are coming in thick and fast and Arsenal have received good news ahead of their future matches thanks to a statement from Mikel Arteta.
Arsenal fans were given a scare on Saturday when star player Bukayo Saka was subbed off in the second half of their game against Aston Villa. The 21 year old had been instrumental in the match, scoring one goal to help the Gunners come from behind twice to level the game.
However, Mikel Arteta has delivered some good news confirming that Saka is fine. “He’s fine – he got kicked quite a lot again, but he’s going to have to deal with that, not every week, but every three days. Sometimes in training as well. It’s his game – teams are not stupid and they want to stop him. We need to protect him.” Arteta told Arsenal Media.
The Gunners eventually found their winner through an own-goal from Martinez and one from Martinelli in injury time to end their winless run and give them all three points at Villa Park. The result was a huge boost for Arsenal who had gone four games without a win prior to this match and had slipped down the Premier League table as a result.
Saka has been one of Arsenal’s standout players this season and his performance against Aston Villa was no exception. He scored one goal as well as creating several other chances for his teammates throughout the match before being replaced late on due to a slight injury.
The news that Saka is fine will come as a huge relief for Arsenal fans who were worried about their star player’s fitness after he was substituted late on in Saturday’s game against Aston Villa. With Saka fit and firing again, Arsenal will be hoping they can continue their winning form into next week’s match against Leicester City.
