Arsenal will this weekend face Aston Villa away from home and Mikel Arteta has hint at giving a chance in starting lineup for a new favourite player.
Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has hinted at giving a new fan favourite player a chance in the starting eleven that will face Aston Villa on Saturday. The gunners signed Leandro Trossard in January and he got his first goal for the club in the 1-1 draw with Brentford.
The Belgian winger has been impressive since his arrival, and Arteta has suggested that he could be given a chance to start against Villa. Speaking ahead of the game, Arteta said: “He’s had an impact every time he’s been on the field, so he’s an option.”
Arsenal must find a way to stop their current slide as they travel to face Aston Villa in the early kick-off on Saturday. Defeat to Manchester City saw the Gunners fall off the top of the Premier League table, and they are now without a win in their last four matches across all competitions.
Trossard could be just what Arsenal need to get back on track, as his pace and directness could cause problems for Villa’s defence. He has already shown glimpses of his quality since joining from Brighton & Hove Albion.
The 28-year-old is also capable of playing anywhere across the front three, which gives Arteta plenty of options when it comes to team selection. Whatever decision Arteta makes regarding Trossard’s involvement against Aston Villa, it is clear that he is an exciting prospect who could have a big impact at Arsenal this season if given more opportunities.
