Predicted Arsenal lineup to face Sporting Lisbon

The UEFA Europa League has returned to the Emirates Stadium and Arsenal will face Sporting Lisbon, and so here is the predicted lineup that Arteta will likely use.

Arsenal will be looking to secure their place in the quarter-finals of the UEFA Europa League when they face Sporting Lisbon at the Emirates Stadium on Thursday. The first leg ended in a 2-2 draw, and Arteta’s men will be hoping to come out on top in the second leg.

The predicted Arsenal lineup for this game is expected to feature some changes from their last game against Fulham. One of the most notable changes is that Matt Turner will start ahead of Aaron Ramsdale in goal. Leandro Trossard will start in the striking position, even after Gabriel Jesus’ return from injury. This decision has been made because Trossard is currently on form, having provided three assists in their last game.

Predicted Arsenal lineup to face Sporting Lisbon

Matt Turner, Oleksandr Zinchenko, Gabriel Magalhaes, William Saliba, Ben White, Granit Xhaka, Thomas Partey, Martin Odegaard, Gabriel Martinelli, Leandro Trossard, Bukayo Saka

In midfield, Granit Xhaka and Thomas Partey are expected to start alongside Martin Odegaard. Xhaka has been a key player for Arsenal this season, providing stability and control in midfield. Meanwhile, Partey’s physicality and ability to break up play make him an important player for Arteta’s side.

In defense, Arsenal are likely to stick with their back four of Oleksandr Zinchenko, Gabriel Magalhaes, William Saliba, and Ben White. This defensive unit has been solid for Arsenal this season.

Up front, Gabriel Martinelli and Bukayo Saka are expected to start alongside Trossard. Martinelli has been impressive this season and will be looking to add to his goal tally against Sporting Lisbon. Meanwhile, Saka’s pace and trickery make him a constant threat down the wing.

Despite being involved in a title race in the Premier League, Arsenal will still be hoping to win the Europa League this season. The Gunners are currently top of the Premier League table with 66 points after 27 games but are closely followed by second-placed Manchester City with 61 points.

Overall, Arteta’s predicted lineup for this game looks strong and balanced. If they can perform at their best on Thursday night, Arsenal should have enough quality to progress to the quarter-finals of the Europa League.
