Guardiola makes a strange statement on Arsenal after thrashing it a few days ago

Arsenal was a few days ago thrashed by Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium and the boss of The Citizens Pep Guardiola has made a strange statement on the club.

Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola has made a statement on Arsenal, who they are currently in a Premier League title race with. This comes after Manchester City defeated Arsenal on Wednesday 4-1, reducing Arsenal’s chances of winning the title. However, the Gunners have mathematically confirmed their qualification to next season’s UEFA Champions League.

Guardiola spoke about the importance of finishing in the top four, stating that it should be considered as the “first trophy”. He pointed out Arsenal’s success in qualifying for the Champions League after seven years out of the competition.

“Look at Arsenal. They are already in the Champions League. Ask their owner or CEO what it means after seven years out of the competition,” Guardiola told reporters. “Next season Arsenal will be playing against the elite, best teams in Europe. And we’ll be there. It’s a success, absolutely.”

Arsenal are currently leading the Premier League table with 75 points after 33 games but are closely followed by second-placed Manchester City, who have 73 points and two games in hand.

The race for the title is still very much alive, with both teams having to play some tough fixtures before the end of the season. However, Guardiola’s comments suggest that he is not solely focused on winning the league but also on securing a top-four finish.

Arsenal fans may feel disappointed that their team may not be able to maintain their lead at the top of the table but they can take solace in knowing that they will be playing against Europe’s best teams next season.

The Gunners have had a good season so far and have shown that they can compete with some of the best teams in the league. However, they will need to maintain their form and consistency if they are to win their first Premier League title since 2004.

As for Manchester City, they will be looking to close the gap on Arsenal and potentially overtake them in the coming weeks. Guardiola’s comments suggest that he is confident of his team’s ability to secure the Premier League trophy.
