The Premier League main action of the weekend was at the Anfield Stadium as Arsenal got held to a 2-2 draw by Liverpool.
The final whistle blew at Anfield Stadium on Sunday, and what a thrilling game it was! Arsenal and Liverpool shared the spoils in the end, with both teams feeling aggrieved not to have earned all three points. Arsenal looked to be cruising after goals from Martinelli and Jesus, but Salah pulled one back for Liverpool before half-time.
The second half was even more exciting as Salah had a penalty which he missed, but his teammate Firmino was able to nod home Alexander-Arnold’s cross in added time to snatch a point for the Reds. The Reds could have won it in added time, but Ramsdale made two brilliant saves to deny Salah and Konate.
This draw keeps Arsenal at the top of the Premier League table with 73 points after 30 games, but they are closely followed by second placed Manchester City which has 67 points. This result will give both teams confidence going into their next matches as they look to keep up their title challenge.
It was an entertaining game that had everything – goals, missed chances and drama – and both sets of fans were treated to a great spectacle. Both teams will feel they could have won it in the end, but a draw was probably a fair result overall.
