Arsenal 0-3 Brighton & Hove Albion: How it happened

Arsenal welcomed Brighton & Hove Albion at the Emirates Stadium on Sunday and they were defeated 3-0 by the visiting side so here's the match report.

Arsenal hosted Brighton & Hove Albion at the Emirates Stadium on Sunday, hoping to keep their Premier League title hopes alive. However, The Seagulls had other plans as they beat the gunners 3-0, complicating Arsenal’s chances of winning the league.

The first half was a cagey affair with both teams failing to break the deadlock. Arsenal had a few chances but failed to convert them into goals. Brighton, on the other hand, were solid in defense and looked dangerous on the counter-attack.

The second half started with Brighton taking the lead in the 51st minute through Pervis Estupinan’s volleyed cross that was headed in by Julio Enciso. Arsenal tried to respond quickly but were unable to find an equalizer.

Brighton doubled their lead in the 86th minute through Deniz Undav’s goal after Pascal Gross won the ball with some brilliant pressing. The gunners were now two goals down and looked deflated.

In stoppage time, Brighton sealed their victory with Estupinan scoring his first Premier League goal to make it 3-0 for The Seagulls. Arsenal had no response and suffered a humiliating defeat at home.

This loss has complicated Arsenal’s hopes of winning the Premier League title this season. They are currently second on the table with 81 points after 36 games but are closely following first-placed Manchester City who have 85 points plus one game in hand.

On the other hand, this win has seen Brighton & Hove Albion move up to sixth position on the table with 58 points. They will be hoping to secure a European spot for next season with just two games left to play.

Arsenal will need to regroup quickly and focus on their remaining fixtures if they want any chance of winning the league title this season. They face Nottingham Forest away next before hosting Wolverhampton on the final day of the season.

Brighton, on the other hand, will be looking to finish the season strongly and secure a European spot.
