Arteta comments on Aaron Ramsdale signing a new deal with Arsenal

Arsenal have announced that Aaron Ramsdale has signed a new deal with the gunners and Mikel Arteta has commented on this.

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has expressed his delight at Aaron Ramsdale’s decision to sign a new contract with the club. The goalkeeper’s extension will run until 2026, with the option of a further year to 2027.

Ramsdale has been in impressive form for Arsenal this season, keeping 13 clean sheets and playing a key role in their push for the Premier League title. The Gunners are currently second on the table with 81 points after 36 games, just four points behind leaders Manchester City.

Speaking about Ramsdale’s new deal, Arteta said: “We’re all so happy that Aaron has signed a new contract. The way Aaron has developed over the past two years has been exceptional, with his performances, contribution and overall adaptation to the club.”

“It’s great that we’re continuing to build our future with our biggest talents in our young squad. We’re all looking forward to enjoying many more years of Aaron the player and the person at the football club.”

Ramsdale himself was equally pleased with his decision to extend his stay at Arsenal. “I’m delighted to have signed a new contract with Arsenal,” he said. “I’ve loved every minute of my time here so far and I’m excited about what we can achieve together in the future.”

The goalkeeper arrived at Arsenal from Sheffield United last summer for a reported fee of £24 million. He initially struggled to establish himself as first-choice keeper but has since become an integral part of Arteta’s side.

Ramsdale’s performances have earned him praise from fans and pundits alike, with many tipping him as a future England international.

With his long-term future now secured at Arsenal, Ramsdale will be hoping to continue his impressive form and help guide the Gunners to their first Premier League title since 2004.

The goalkeeper will also be looking to impress England manager Gareth Southgate ahead of this summer’s European Championships. With Jordan Pickford and Nick Pope both struggling for form, Ramsdale could well find himself in contention for a place in the squad.

Overall, Ramsdale’s new contract is a major boost for Arsenal and their fans. The goalkeeper has quickly become a fan favourite at the Emirates Stadium and his performances this season have been nothing short of outstanding. With his long-term future now secured, the Gunners can look forward to many more years of success with Ramsdale between the sticks.
