Newcastle United 0-2 Arsenal: How it happened

Arsenal have kept their Premier League title hopes alive after defeating Newcastle United at its home ground thanks to a goal from Martin Odegaard and another from an own goal.

Arsenal have kept their Premier League title hopes alive with a 2-0 victory over Newcastle United at St James Park. The Gunners started the game on the front foot and took the lead in the 14th minute through a stunning long-range strike from Martin Odegaard. The Norwegian midfielder picked up the ball just outside the box and unleashed a powerful shot that beat Newcastle goalkeeper Martin Dubravka.

The first half was a feisty affair, with both teams creating chances but failing to convert them. Newcastle United continued to dominate possession in the second half but failed to score and the gunners doubled their lead in the 71st minute when Fabian Schar turned the ball into his own net after a low cross from Gabriel Martinelli.

The win sees Arsenal remain in second place on the Premier League table with 81 points after 35 games, just one point behind leaders Manchester City, who have played one game less. This result keeps their title hopes alive with just three games remaining in the season.

The loss sees Newcastle remain in 3rd place on the Premier League table with 65 points after 35 games. They will need to improve their form in the remaining games if they are to secure a place in Europe next season.

Overall, it was a crucial win for Arsenal as they continue to chase the Premier League title. With just three games remaining, every point counts, and they will need to maintain their form if they are to catch Manchester City and lift the trophy at the end of the season.
