Arsenal fans receive new update on Kieran Tierney possibly leaving the club

Arsenal defender Kieran Tierney has been linked with an exit from the Emirates Stadium and the gooners have received an update on his future.

Arsenal may face a challenging task in convincing Kieran Tierney to stay at the club, as the left-back had his playing time limited last season according to  Football London. Tierney made only six starts in the Premier League, with manager Mikel Arteta often preferring Oleksandr Zinchenko in the left-back position. This has led to reports linking Tierney with a potential move to Newcastle United or his former club Celtic.

Tierney arrived at Arsenal from Celtic in the summer of 2019 with high expectations. However, injuries hampered his progress during his debut season, limiting him to just few Premier League appearances. Despite this setback, he showed glimpses of his potential and was expected to establish himself as a key player for Arsenal in the following campaign.

Unfortunately for Tierney, things did not go as planned. Arteta’s preference for Zinchenko over him raised questions about his future at the club. The limited playing time has understandably frustrated the Scottish international, who is eager for regular first-team action.

The situation becomes even more complicated when considering Tierney’s previous association with Celtic. Having spent several successful seasons at Parkhead before joining Arsenal, there is a strong emotional connection between Tierney and his former club. Reports suggest that Celtic are monitoring his situation closely and would be interested in bringing him back if he becomes available.

Newcastle United has also emerged as a potential destination for Tierney. The Magpies are looking to strengthen their squad under new ownership and see Tierney as an ideal addition to their defense. With more guaranteed playing time on offer at Newcastle, it could be an enticing proposition for the 25-year-old.

For Arsenal, losing Tierney would be a significant blow. Despite limited opportunities last season, he showcased his quality whenever given the chance and remains highly regarded by fans and pundits alike. His attacking prowess and defensive solidity make him an asset that any team would desire.

To convince Tierney to stay, Arsenal must address his concerns regarding playing time. Arteta needs to assure him that he will have a more prominent role in the team and that his talents will be utilized effectively.

Ultimately, the decision lies with Tierney himself. He must weigh his options carefully and consider what is best for his career. While a move away from Arsenal might provide him with more playing time, staying at the club could offer him an opportunity to be part of their resurgence.

Arsenal faces an uphill battle in convincing Tierney to stay, but they must do everything possible to retain his services. Losing such a talented player would be a setback for the Gunners, both on and off the field.
