Eddie Nketiah sends a tough message to Arteta over game time for next season

Arsenal striker Eddie Nketiah that played as a back up for the gunners last season has sent a tough message to his boss over the upcoming season.

Arsenal striker Eddie Nketiah has made it clear that he will not accept being a backup player for the Gunners. The 24-year-old insists that his mentality is to be the best and to always push for playing time.

In an interview with Football.London, Nketiah stated, “No, I don’t think I have accepted being a backup and I will never accept that. That’s not my mentality. That’s not why I signed here to sit and be second best. I want to be the best, I want to play and that’s the mentality I have.”

Nketiah acknowledges that he may not play every game due to the coach’s decision, but he emphasizes that it will never be his mentality to accept not playing. He is determined to push in training and seize every opportunity to prove why he deserves to be on the pitch.

The young striker believes that all players should have this mindset and there are ways to demonstrate it without complaining or moaning. Nketiah wants to give the manager a headache by consistently performing well in training and making a case for himself.

Last season, Nketiah made 30 appearances for Arsenal, but most of them came as a substitute as Gabriel Jesus was Mikel Arteta’s first-choice striker. Despite limited playing time, Nketiah managed to score four Premier League goals and provide one assist.

However, Nketiah is hungry for more. He wants regular playing time and aims to establish himself as a key player for Arsenal. His determination and drive are evident in his words, as he refuses to settle for anything less than being the best.

Nketiah’s ambition is admirable, especially considering the competition within Arsenal’s squad. With established players like Gabriel Jesus and Leandro Trossard ahead of him in the pecking order, Nketiah faces an uphill battle for consistent game time.

But his attitude suggests that he is up for the challenge. Nketiah’s willingness to work hard and prove himself in training will undoubtedly catch the attention of manager Mikel Arteta. If he continues to impress, it may only be a matter of time before he gets more opportunities on the pitch.

In conclusion, Eddie Nketiah has made it clear that he will not accept being a backup striker for Arsenal. His mentality is to be the best and he is determined to push for playing time. Despite limited opportunities last season, Nketiah showcased his goal-scoring ability and now aims to establish himself as a key player for the Gunners. With his determination and drive, it will be interesting to see how Nketiah’s career unfolds at Arsenal.
