Wenger makes prophecy on what will be Arsenal’s final league position next season

The new Premier League season is just a few weeks from now and former Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has made a prediction on what the gunners final league table position will be.

Former Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has made a bold prediction about where he believes Arsenal will finish in the Premier League in the 2023-24 season. Speaking to Eurosport at the start of Stage 15 of the Tour de France, Wenger confidently stated, “I believe we will win the championship, it is as simple as that. I have less doubts for Arsenal than the cycling today.”

This prediction comes after Arsenal’s intense title race with Manchester City in the previous season. The Gunners were in contention to win the 2022/23 Premier League title but suffered a crucial defeat against Nottingham Forest in their 37th game week, ultimately losing out on the trophy to Manchester City. Arsenal finished the season with 84 points, while Manchester City secured the title with 89 points.

Despite falling short last season, Wenger remains optimistic about Arsenal’s chances in the upcoming campaign. The Frenchman’s confidence stems from his belief in his former team’s potential and their ability to compete at the highest level. Wenger led Arsenal to three Premier League titles during his tenure as manager and clearly still holds high expectations for the club.

Arsenal’s second-place finish last season was undoubtedly disappointing for both fans and players alike. The Gunners had held onto their position at the top of the league table for an impressive ten months before being overtaken by Manchester City. However, this strong showing throughout most of the season demonstrates that Arsenal have what it takes to challenge for top honors.

Wenger’s prediction may seem ambitious considering Manchester City’s recent dominance in English football. The Citizens have most of the last five Premier League titles under Pep Guardiola’s guidance and have established themselves as one of Europe’s elite clubs. However, Wenger’s unwavering belief in his former team suggests that he sees something special brewing at Arsenal.

The Gunners will need to strengthen their squad if they are to fulfill Wenger’s prophecy. While they boast talented players like Gabriel Jesus and Bukayo Saka, Arsenal will likely need to invest in key areas to compete with the likes of Manchester City. A solid defense and a reliable midfield will be crucial for their title aspirations.

Only time will tell if Wenger’s prediction comes true. The Premier League is known for its unpredictability, and anything can happen over the course of a season. However, Wenger’s faith in Arsenal’s potential should not be dismissed lightly. If the Gunners can build on their strong performances from last season and make shrewd signings, they may just have a shot at reclaiming the Premier League trophy in the 2023-24 campaign.
