Arsenal’s chances of beating Brentford increase after latest new developments

Arsenal have received a new advantage ahead of their upcoming match against Brentford on Saturday. The Gunners will be facing a Brentford side without their key defender, Nathan Collins, who has suffered ankle ligament damage and will be unavailable for the game.

Currently sitting in 3rd position on the Premier League table with 27 points in this 2023/24 campaign, Arsenal are coming off a convincing 3-1 victory against Burnley in their recent Premier League game at the Emirates Stadium. Their next challenge will be against Brentford at the Gtech Community Stadium on Saturday, November 25th, 2023.

Brentford, who famously defeated Arsenal 2-0 in their first-ever Premier League encounter back in August 2021, have struggled against the Gunners since then. They have failed to secure a win in their last three meetings with Arsenal, managing only a draw and suffering two defeats.

In fact, Arsenal have been dominant in their away games against Brentford, winning their last two encounters in all competitions. Last season, they triumphed with a resounding 3-0 victory in this exact fixture. Historically, Arsenal had a poor record at Brentford’s home ground, with just one win in their first seven visits between 1902 and 2021.

This season, Arsenal have already secured a win away at Brentford, defeating them 1-0 in the League Cup third round. The Gunners’ ability to win two away games against fellow London sides in the same season has been rare, with the last occurrence happening against Crystal Palace in the 1992-93 season.

On the other hand, Brentford have shown strength in Premier League London derbies, going unbeaten in their last 14 matches against London-based teams. However, Arsenal hold an even more impressive record, with a longer current run without defeat in such fixtures, having won 11 and drawn 5 of their last 16 London derbies.

Brentford’s home form has been solid, with just one loss in their last 10 home league games. They suffered a 3-1 defeat against Everton in September but have since bounced back with victories against Burnley (3-0) and West Ham (3-2). The last time Brentford won three consecutive home games while scoring three or more goals each time was in March 2015.

With Nathan Collins sidelined due to ankle ligament damage, Arsenal will be looking to take advantage of Brentford’s defensive vulnerability. The Gunners will aim to continue their recent success against Brentford, building on their away victories in previous seasons. However, Brentford’s strong home form and their unbeaten run in London derbies will provide a tough challenge for Arsenal.

The match between Arsenal and Brentford promises to be an exciting encounter, with both teams eager to secure three points. Arsenal will be hoping to extend their winning streak and maintain their position in the top three of the Premier League table, while Brentford will be determined to bounce back from their recent defeats and continue their impressive home form.
