Arteta reveals what Arsenal will do differently in second leg against Porto

Arsenal’s manager, Mikel Arteta, has shed light on the adjustments the team plans to make ahead of their crucial UEFA Champions League encounter with FC Porto following a 1-0 defeat in the first leg. Arteta emphasized the need for tactical tweaks and improved performance to overcome Porto and secure progression in the competition.

In a statement to Arsenal Media, Arteta outlined the team’s approach for the upcoming match, stating, “We’re certainly going to have to tweak a few things to generate much more than what we did against them.” The Spaniard acknowledged the high level of competition in the Champions League and the necessity to elevate Arsenal’s game to match the standards set by top-class opponents like Porto.

Arteta further highlighted the mental aspect of facing a two-legged tie, noting, “the fact that there are two games as well plays on your mind,” underscoring the psychological challenges associated with the knockout stages of the tournament. The Arsenal manager emphasized the team’s focus on delivering an improved performance in the second leg to overturn the deficit and advance to the next round.

As Arsenal prepares to host Porto at the Emirates Stadium, Arteta emphasized the imperative of raising the team’s level of play. “We’re going to have to be better tomorrow,” he declared, signaling the team’s determination to rectify their shortcomings from the first leg and put forth a stronger display in pursuit of Champions League progression.

With Arsenal sitting atop the Premier League table with 64 points, the Champions League remains a significant battleground for Arteta’s side, and the manager’s words reflect a sense of urgency and intent as they seek to bounce back and deliver a commanding performance against Porto on Tuesday.
