Ainsley Maitland-Niles was impressive for the gunners in the few opportunities he got last season and the club has offered the youngster was offered a long-term deal.
Arsenal has confirmed that Ainsley Maitland-Niles has signed a new long-term contract to extend his stay at the Emirates Stadium, the club announced on its official website arsenal.com.
The young Englishman arrived at Arsenal at the age of nine and he has slowly been progressing through a several stages as he is also on his way to the first team squad probably next season.
Maitland-Niles became Arsenal’s second youngest Champions League player in December, 2014 when he was brought onto the match from the bench when the gunners were facing Galatasary. He did get some appearances last season in some matches in the Carabao Cup and in the last Premier League matches.
There has been reports that Arsenal new manager Unai Emery wants to give a chance to Ainsley Maitland-Niles because he believes the youngster is talented and the player somewhat confirmed this after he revealed that he has been talking with the new boss.
“You don’t really hear alot of young players being shouted out by their managers, especially a new manager who hasn’t really seen them play too much.” Maitland-Niles told arsenal.com
“I think it’s brilliant to hear from him and it gives me a load of confidence.”
Some Arsenal fans believe that the club wants to replace Ainsley Maitland-Niles with Jack Wilshere who has refused to sign a new deal to extend his stay at the Emirates Stadium.
