Mesut Ozil makes decision on his future amid Unai Emery’s comments about him

Arsenal midfielder Mesut Ozil has been at the Emirates Stadium for five years but many transfer rumours claim that it could come to an end this season because of Unai Emery.

Arsenal’s record earner Mesut Ozil doesn’t want to leave the club even though he has received an offer from Inter Milan for a possible transfer in the January transfer window.

The 30-year-old play-maker signed a massive £350,000 a-week contract last January but has failed to impress Unai Emery and has had sticky spell of form.

Ozil got his first start in over four weeks after recovering from a “back injury” playing 83 minutes of the 1-0 Europa League win over Qarabag on December 13.

And he was benched for the start of the Premier League clash against Southampton on Sunday that brought their 22-game unbeaten run to an end. The former Real Madrid star was sent on with the game poised at 2-2 but he had a hand in the winner that left Gunners fans fuming.

Mesut Ozil was not included in the squad that faced Tottenham Hotspur on Wednesday and this has raised many questions on the future of the German international at the Emirates Stadium.

The German was slammed by Arsenal fans after his awful dummy which led to Charlie Austin’s goal, the winner for the underdogs. However German media outlet BILD insist that he is happy at the club and also reveal that he rejected an offer in 2017 to join Inter Milan.

So this will basically be good news for the Arsenal supporters that want Mesut Ozil to stay at the club and more importantly, he has been impressive in the last five years at the North London club even though it’s claimed that he goes missing in big matches.

It is reported that Unai Emery is not satisfied with what Ozil has to offer compared to the money he earns. Ozil has made 11 appearances in the League this season scoring 3 times and assisting once.
