Report: Why Arsenal should not offer Danny Welbeck a new deal

Danny Welbeck is in the final year of his current contract at Arsenal but everyone has different opinions on whether the English international should get a new deal from the club.

Arsenal might have had a decent run of forms in recent weeks under new manager Unai Emery but there are certain off field issues that need to be put to bed in the next couple of weeks.

The club is in contract deliberations about two of their loyal servants in Aaron Ramsey and Danny Welbeck. The latter seems to have a more pronounced case as he is injured and should be out for the rest of the season.

There are questions about a new contract for the English forward who adds to the club home-grown list but this looks unlikely with series of factors under considerations. Welbeck is certainly a backup (squad) player at Arsenal but his injury prone situation is proving more negative than ever as regards to a new deal at the moment.

The player who is valued in this the region of 25 million in the transfer market may “have his days at the Emirates Stadium numbered. Welbeck is behind Unai Emery’s first choice strikers, Alexandra Lacazette and Gabon forward Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang in the pecking order and it is unlikely he will be offered a new contract with regards to this reason.

This could be made easy as suitors like some Premier League clubs and Turkish giants (Galatasaray) are willing to pay(make offers) for his services. Arsenal might have come to the end of the road with Welbeck as the player have missed over 80 matches since joining the London club in 2014 from Manchester United.

For me a move away from Emirates would be splendid for both sides (Welbeck &Arsenal) particularly Arsenal. This will free up spaces for the club to make further transfer addition to the side possibly in the January window.

With financial pressure at the club which Spanish manager Unai Emery is aware of, it will be suitable for the club to cash in on the player to give Arsenal financial ascendancy in the market. With Welbeck injury dilemma it is wise to allow the player complete his rehabilitation while using the cash realization from his sell to buy players from the Premier League.

Attacking players (talent) like Wilfred Zaha and Victor Moses who would be an ideal replacement for Welbeck. The club can take this opportunity to get a potential player in place of the English man especially with the inactivity of Victor Moses under Italian manager Maurizio Sarri.
