Unai Emery reveals how he is going to fix Arsenal’s defence

Arsenal has conceded a lot of goals in the Premier League this season and Unai Emery has spoken about this.

Arsenal appointed Unai Emery as their new head coach in May, 2018 and the Spanish international did give the gunners some hope as they went on an unbeaten run of 22 games but things have started getting hard for him as the gunners have lost their form.

The gunners lost their unbeaten run in December after Southampton defeated them 3-2 and this defeat was because of the injuries which Unai Emery had on his hands because he was forced to play Granit Xhaka as a centre back. The gunners then later got knocked out of the Carabao Cup by Tottenham Hotspur who scored 2 goals past them.

But the match that really embarrassed Unai Emery’s Arsenal was the 5-1 loss to Liverpool at the Anfield Stadium because even though the league leaders were the favourites to win the game, most of the Arsenal supporters hoped that their team would put on a good fight for the three points.

Arsenal’s chances of finishing in the Premier League top four have reduced after their team dropped three points against West Ham United on Saturday last weekend and Unai Emery is now on pressure to improve on his team’s defensive problems. Arsenal head coach Unai Emery recently spoke to Sky Sports and he revealed how he will improve the defence of the gunners and he claims that he wants the team to find balance.

“Now, we are in a transition where we are looking for a balance. I don’t want to lose all the good things about this team. There are times when defensively we have not been very solid, but we have still won because offensively we have created a lot of chances.” said Unai Emery.

“So at the moment, I am still leaning towards making sure the team doesn’t lose what it has. But yes, it’s true that we have to achieve greater defensive solidity.”
