Arsenal midfielder Lucas Torreira has been linked with a move to AC Milan in the last few days but he has put an end to those reports.
It’s been a quiet summer at Arsenal Football Club in these past few weeks but there has increasingly been many reports which claim that Lucas Torreira might make his way to AC Milan in this transfer window because he is tired of England after just one season with the gunners.
Lucas Torreira arrived at Arsenal last summer and the midfielder has attracted interest from AC Milan this summer who have now hired the former Sampdoria coach Marco Giampaolo. It’s believed that the Italian side have made Torreira their number one transfer target and some Italian outlets claimed that the Arsenal star was unhappy in England because of the language barrier and it’s weather.
Lucas Torreira is currently with the Uruguayan national football team in Brazil for the Copa America and he faced the press yesterday and spoke about a number of issues including the rumours that he will be joining AC Milan. He basically confirmed that they were false and said that he was happy at the Emirates Stadium.
“Nobody from AC Milan has got in touch with me, today I’m in the Premier and happy to be part of the Arsenal. It cost me the adaptation, it’s not easy, but I only think about that team. I’m happy to be there.” Torreira told the Uruguayan press.
Arsenal will be hoping that this statement by Lucas Torreira puts an end to the transfer rumours regarding the Uruguayan international because the club would have found it hard to keep him if he said that he was unhappy at being at the North London club.
