Former Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger says that the gunners did not show up in the second half in the Europa League final against Chelsea.
The gunners got beaten 4-1 by Chelsea in the UEFA Europa League final and this has seen Arsenal end the season without a trophy and will also not be able to play in next season’s UEFA Champions League. Unai Emery is a Europa League king but he was finally beaten in the final by Sarri’s Chelsea side. Arsene Wenger has finally commented on this defeat.
The gunners started well in the UEFA Europa League final and could have scored in the first 45 minutes of the game but failed to do so. Olivier Giroud then later punished them and Pedro and Hazard finished off the job.
It’s now been a year now since Arsenal’s longest-serving manager Arsene Wenger left the Emirates Stadium and he has in the last few months been doing punditry work as he relaxes from club football before he makes a decision whether to start coaching clubs again. Wenger has finally spoken out on Arsenal’s failure to win the UEFA Europa League and has also highlighted something which they did wrong in that game, and the Arsenal fans will be happy that he is still addressing the North Londoners as we!
“I felt that in the first half we did quite alright but as soon as Chelsea scored the first goal we collapsed completely.” Wenger told beIN Sports
“In the second half we didn’t exist. It was a sad night for us.”
