Lacazette sends Arsenal fans a message about Unai Emery

Arsenal head coach Unai Emery has been heavily criticized by the fans in the last few weeks but Lacazette has made a statement defending his manager.

Arsenal appointed Unai Emery as their first head coach in May 2018 and even though he lost the first two matches against Manchester City and Chelsea, he then later went on an unbeaten run of 22 matches in all competitions with some fans starting to chant that “We’ve got our Arsenal back.”

Unai Emery is currently facing a lot of criticism from the Arsenal fans but Alexandre Lacazette has however come out to his aid saying that the players are currently low on confidence and that he hopes that the international break will give them time to sort themselves out as they are winless in their last five matches.

The gunners were impressive in the first months of last season due to their amazing 22 game unbeaten run and Unai Emery received a lot of praise for this since he had just been in his first year at the North London club but things have turned ugly for him this season as he has lost the support of the fans. Lacazette says that the fans didn’t say anything about the coach ( Unai Emery ) during the unbeaten run, the French striker also spoke of how they can still catch up to the likes of Chelsea who are now nine points ahead of the gunners.

“Last season when we were unbeaten in 20 games in a row nobody said anything about the coach or manager.” Lacazette told France24.

“We miss confidence and we need the international break. I hope we are going to come back well. We want to be top four, of course.”

“Now we are nine points behind Chelsea and Leicester and it is going to be hard, but everything is possible in football.”

Arsenal’s next match will be against Southampton and if Unai Emery is still the head coach of the club by then, this will be a must win game for him since a loss could see them get into the bottom half of the Premier League table.
