Report: Premier League cancelled until May and Arteta’s health update

The Premier League has today announced that the league will be cancelled by May and Arsenal has also gave an update on Mikel Arteta's health.

Arsenal head coach Mikel Arteta was confirmed to be positive of Corona virus some time back and he has since then been self isolating with the London Colney also getting deep cleaned in order to combat any chances of other people at the club getting it.  The Premier League has been cancelled ever since Arteta’s news of being positive of COVID-19 came out but a new decision has today seen that break extended.

After consulting all representatives of clubs in the Premier League and all the lower leagues, The FA has decided that this season will not be made null and void and that it will restart in May which is a very different date than the first released two weeks ago.  The Premier League was earlier scheduled to take place at the start of April but it looks like the officials will need more time to evaluate the COVID-19 situation and so the clubs will have to wait until 30th April before the clubs start playing again.

Arsenal head coach Mikel Arteta and the players have been self isolating for over a week now but there hasn’t been any communication on whether any player or staff of the club has also got the virus.  The club has today confirmed that Mikel Arteta is starting to feel well now and has been coordinating with the coaches and the players.

“A number of staff, including Mikel and the men’s first team squad, are currently isolating at home.” read a statement on Arsenal.com.

“We’re pleased to say that Mikel is feeling much better. He’s in good spirits, doing detailed planning with the coaches and speaking to the players regularly. The women’s and academy teams are also currently staying at home.”

“All our players are looking forward to getting back out on the training pitches as soon as the situation allows.”

The Arsenal fans will be hoping that football returns once again since their club seemed to be improving under Mikel Arteta and there was a legitimate chance of getting a UEFA Champions League spot.
