Arsenal Vs Manchester City FA Cup Match Preview & Stats

The Emirates FA Cup will return this weekend and Arsenal will be taking on Manchester City and here's the match preview & stats.

The Emirates FA Cup returns this Saturday night and record holders Arsenal will clash with defending Champions Manchester City at the Wembley Stadium. These two faced each other a month ago to restart the Premier League and Arsenal head coach Mikel Arteta will be hopeful that he has learnt enough in that period to find a way to defeat his former employers as this game will mean more to them.

Arsenal will come into this match with a lot of confidence after surprisingly beating Liverpool 2-1 on Wednesday and they will be hoping to do the same to Manchester City but Arteta will be scratching his head a lot ahead of this game because the gunners have lost to The Citizens in the last seven matches. Arsenal are the most successful team in the FA Cup as they have won 13 titles but their run in the competition this season is different from the others as it could also secure them European qualification if they don’t get to the UEFA Europa League spots by the end of the Premier League.

Manchester City will on the other hand hope to get as many titles as they can get this season after losing the league to Liverpool and they will come into this game with all the bragging rights as they are the defending Champions and because they’ve such an incredible run of games against Arsenal as you can see in the table below showing the last five meetings between the sides.

Arsenal head coach Mikel Arteta showed how he had his eyes on the FA Cup on Wednesday when he put Aubameyang on the bench and so he will probably go all out against Manchester City at the weekend as winning the FA Cup will not only help them keep their record as the most successful since Manchester United are just one title behind them but would also see the gunners get a spot in next year’s UEFA Europa League group stage.

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola said that they could use the FA Cup tie against Arsenal as preparation for their upcoming UEFA Champions League games but Arsenal will be ready to put up a fight against them as Arteta acknowledged that his team might have some problems but belief isn’t among them.
