Mikel Arteta provides injury update on Saka and Smith Rowe ahead of the Liverpool game

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has provided an injury update on Bukayo Saka and Emile Smith Rowe ahead of Saturday's game against Liverpool.

Arsenal will on Saturday welcome Liverpool to the Emirates Stadium and the gunners will be looking to get the three points at home as they did last season but Mikel Arteta will however a lot to worry about ahead of this game as Bukayo Saka and Emile Smith Rowe are doubts for the game.

Bukayo Saka was in the England squad that was called up for the international games but he however was not able to play any game as he was being monitored due to a problem that he encountered during club football. Emile Smith Rowe was in the squad of the Young Lions but he however sustained a hip problem while on international duty hence making him and Saka doubts for the game against Liverpool at the weekend.

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta had his pre-match press conference on Thursday and he was asked to provide an injury update on Bukayo Saka and Emile Smith and here’s what to say about them;

“Bukayo hasn’t trained with the team yet.He’s been doing some individual work.” Mikel Arteta told Arsenal Media.

“We had to pull him out of the England squad, unfortunately. He’s feeling better, but he hasn’t trained with the team yet.”

“Emile has some discomfort in his hip and that’s why they decided to keep him out.”

“We will see today how he comes here, we will speak with the doctors and the physios and see if he is available for training tomorrow.”

Bukayo Saka and Emile Smith Rowe are very important to Arsenal at the moment as they were among the players that helped the club to end its free-falling phase in December and so Mikel Arteta will hope that both of them are available for the game against The Premier League Champions.
