Arsenal midfielder Martin Odegaard has come out in support of his teammate Bukayo Saka after the young winger missed a crucial penalty in their 2-2 draw with West Ham United.

The match saw Arsenal take an early lead through goals from Gabriel Jesus and Odegaard, but West Ham fought back with a penalty from Said Benrahma before Jarrod Bowen equalized in the second half. Saka had the chance to put Arsenal ahead again from the spot, but his shot went high and wide of the goal.

Speaking after the match, Odegaard said, “These things happen, he has been brilliant all season and been clinical from the spot. But today was not the day for him. We win and lose together.”

Despite dropping points in this match, Arsenal remain at the top of the Premier League table with 74 points after 31 games. However, they are closely followed by second-placed Manchester City who have 70 points and a game in hand.

Saka has been one of Arsenal’s standout performers this season, scoring 12 goals and providing 10 assists in the Premier League.

While it was a disappointing result for Arsenal, they will be looking to bounce back in their next match against Southampton.

For Saka, it will be important to put this miss behind him and continue to play with confidence and determination. As Odegaard said, “We win and lose together,” and it is clear that Saka has the support of his teammates as he looks to continue his impressive form this season.
