Arsenal 2-2 Fulham: How it happened
Arsenal has today made a 2-2 draw with their London neighbours Fulham at the Emirates Stadium and here is the match report.
In an exhilarating match at the Emirates Stadium, Arsenal were held to a 2-2 draw by a resilient Fulham side. The game had everything – goals, drama, and even a red card.
Fulham got off to a dream start when Andreas Pereira capitalized on a loose ball and fired a long-range shot past Arsenal goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale in just the first minute of the game. The visitors took an early lead and stunned the home crowd.
However, Arsenal quickly regrouped and started to dominate possession. They created several chances but were unable to find the back of the net until the 70th minute when Bukayo Saka converted a penalty after Fabio Vieira was fouled in the box. The goal brought Arsenal level and injected new life into their attack.
Just two minutes later, Eddie Nketiah completed a quick turnaround for Arsenal as he prodded in a brilliant low cross from Vieira. The Gunners were now in control of the game and looked set to secure all three points.
However, Fulham showed great resilience despite being down to ten men after Calvin Bassey received his second yellow card for a foul on Nketiah. In the 87th minute, Joao Palhinha reacted quickly after a corner kick to tap home an equalizer for Fulham. It was a bitter blow for Arsenal who had fought hard to take the lead.
Both teams pushed for a winner in the dying minutes of the game, but ultimately had to settle for a draw. It was an entertaining match that showcased both sides’ attacking prowess and determination.
For Arsenal, it was another frustrating result as they hoped to make it three wins in three matches. However, there were positives to take from their performance, particularly their ability to come from behind and take control of the game.
Fulham will be delighted with their point away from home against one of the league’s top teams. Despite being reduced to ten men, they showed great character and fought until the final whistle.
Overall, it was a thrilling encounter that will be remembered for its goals and drama. Both teams will now look ahead to their next fixtures as they aim to build on this result and continue their respective campaigns.
