Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has addressed the recent reports linking centre back Gabriel Magalhaes with a move to Saudi Arabian clubs. The 25-year-old Brazilian defender played in all 38 Premier League games for Arsenal last season and has already featured in the two league games played so far this season.

Arteta, however, dismissed the rumors surrounding Gabriel’s potential departure, stating that the player is crucial to the team’s plans. “Gabby is really important for us, an important player — there’s nothing going on at the moment,” Arteta told the media.

Gabriel’s performances last season earned him a reputation as one of Arsenal’s most reliable defenders. His strong aerial presence, excellent positioning, and ability to read the game have made him a key figure in Arteta’s defensive setup.

The Brazilian joined Arsenal from Lille in August 2020 for a reported fee of around £23 million. Since then, he has quickly adapted to English football and established himself as a regular starter for the Gunners.

With the transfer window closing in less than a week, it is understandable that rumors and speculations are circulating regarding potential moves. However, Arteta’s comments suggest that Arsenal has no intention of letting go of Gabriel at this stage.

As Arsenal aims to improve on their second place finish from last season and challenge for the title once again, keeping hold of key players like Gabriel will be crucial. His presence provides stability and solidity at the heart of their defense.

While it remains to be seen if any concrete offers will materialize before the transfer window closes, Arsenal fans can take solace in knowing that their talented centre back is currently focused on performing for his current club.

I enjoy football so much and I am in love with Arsenal Football Club. I always watch the matches and will always give you my opinions about the game here.
