Arsenal are reportedly interested in signing Everton midfielder Amadou Onana, according to the Liverpool Echo.  The Gunners have made an enquiry about the availability of the Belgian international, suggesting they are keen on bolstering their midfield ahead of the upcoming season. The source says that Everton could request for £50million.

Onana, who joined Everton from Lille in 2022, enjoyed a solid first full season at Goodison Park, showcasing his physicality, defensive prowess, and ability to contribute in the attacking phase. He scored two goals in the Premier League last season, demonstrating his threat from set pieces and his ability to impact games in both boxes.

The 22-year-old midfielder’s attributes would complement Arsenal’s existing midfield options.  His strength, aerial ability, and tenacity would add a different dimension to the Gunners’ midfield, providing a more physical presence and an alternative style of play.

While Everton will be reluctant to let go of a key player, Onana’s ambition and the potential for a move to a club with title aspirations could tempt him.  Arsenal, with their recent success and ambition to challenge Manchester City for the Premier League crown, represent a highly attractive destination for a player of Onana’s talent.

The potential arrival of Onana would signal a further strengthening of Arsenal’s midfield, as they continue to build a squad capable of competing at the highest level.  The transfer could also be seen as an indication of their ambition to challenge for major trophies and establish themselves as a dominant force in English football.

The coming weeks will be crucial in determining whether a deal can be struck between Arsenal and Everton.  If a move materializes, Onana’s arrival at the Emirates could be a significant factor in Arsenal’s bid for success in the upcoming season.

I enjoy football so much and I am in love with Arsenal Football Club. I always watch the matches and will always give you my opinions about the game here.
