Uruguay international Lucas Torreira has been linked with a move to the Emirates Stadium for weeks now and his father has also confirmed that his son is set to sign for them gunners after the World Cup.
Arsenal is working on strengthening it’s midfield before the start of the 2018/19 season which is just one month away now so Unai Emery has identified Lucas Torreira as the perfect player who could fit well in his playing style which he hopes to introduce next season.
Lucas Torreira is now with the Uruguayan national team in Russia for the World Cup but it is understood that the gunners have agreed a £26million deal with Sampdoria for the midfielder, Torreira’s father has however confirmed the interest from Arsenal and says that the player will be having his medical after his participation in the World Cup.
“I want the best for my son and I also know that Arsenal have interest in him.” He told Radio Crc.
“It’s not done, neither is it official because he hasn’t signed anything but there’s a great chance that Lucas’ future will be in England.”
“There was no problem in the negotiations and the latest is that as soon as the World Cup ends, he’ll go to London for a medical.”
The Arsenal fans can’t wait to see the official announcement of signing Lucas Torreira but as per the statement by the father of the player, they will have to wait until Uruguay get eliminated or win the FIFA WORLD CUP before he can be unveiled as a gunner.
