The gunners will play Liverpool today so here's the expected Arsenal lineup to face the Reds.
Arsenal will welcome Liverpool at the Emirates Stadium this evening and the gunners will be hoping to continue their unbeaten run by defeating the Reds. Arsenal faces a big team at a time where they are in an injury crisis because most of its defenders are doubtful of starting today’s match.
So let’s take a look at the expected Arsenal lineup to face Liverpool today based on the current reports and Unai Emery’s pre-match press conference.
EXPECTED ARSENAL LINEUP TO FACE LIVERPOOL
Leno, Lichtsteiner, Holding, Mustafi, Maitland-Niles, Torreira, Xhaka, Iwobi, Ozil, Aubameyang, Lacazette
Goalkeeping:
Petr Cech just returned from an injury and played against Blackpool on Wednesday but Bernd Leno has been impressive for the gunners in the matches he has played in the absence of the Czech Republican international. So I expect him to start today.
Defence:
Hector Bellerin and Nacho Monreal are expected to miss the match against Liverpool. So Lichtsteiner and Maitland-Niles might play as full backs for the gunners this evening. Mustafi and Holding will again be in defence for Arsenal because Sokratis and Koscielny aren’t fully fit.
Central Midfield:
Granit Xhaka will finally leave the horror of playing as a left back for Arsenal so he is expected to be paired with Lucas Torreira in the midfield against Liverpool.
Attacking Midfield:
I expect Unai Emery to field an attacking midfield of Iwobi, Ozil and Aubameyang because they are needed for the Liverpool game even though they might have not impressed against Crystal Palace last week.
Striking:
Alexandre Lacazette was given a rest on Wednesday when the gunners faced Blackpool on Wednesday but he will probably be in the starting eleven today.
So gooners, do you think this team can defeat Liverpool?
