Arsenal striker Danny Welbeck has been on the sidelines for weeks because of an ankle injury that he sustained in Arsenal’s UEFA Europa League match against Sporting Lisbon in November. The gunners have missed him because he was Emery’s plan B when things weren’t going their way.

Arsenal will on the 29th face Chelsea in the UEFA Europa League final and it seems like the fan’s hopes of seeing Danny Welbeck in the final could happen as a report by The Sun claims that the Englishman will be fully fit to play in this match despite having missed over five months due to an ankle injury.

Welbeck’s return to the Arsenal squad will give Unai Emery another important option on the bench since there are fears that Henrikh Mkhitaryan will not be able to travel to Baku due to political reasons between Azerbaijan and Armenia. Welbeck is in the final weeks of his contract at the Emirates Stadium and the club has already announced that he will be leaving the club but it would be an outstanding farewell if he gets a chance in the UEFA Europa League final.

Danny Welbeck has been a back up striker for the gunners in the most of his career at Arsenal because of injuries and its believed that the new leadership at the North London club decided that this time would be the perfect time for them to part ways.
