Two tough decisions that Arteta will have to make after PL return

The Premier League will not be returning any time soon but we however take a look at two tough decisions that Arteta will have to make after the season resumes.

The Premier League is currently suspended due to the spread of COVID-19 but we however take a look at two tough decisions that Arsenal head coach Mikel Arteta will have to make when the season restarts.

1. BUKAYO SAKA’S COMPETITION WITH KIERAN TIERNEY

Bukayo Saka has been impressive for Arsenal in the last few months while playing as a left back and Mikel Arteta did hint that Kieran Tierney might not just go back into the starting eleven when he becomes fit since the 18-year-old had made it his own. Saka has on the hand claimed that he still sees himself as a winger because that’s the position that he believes suits him.

Kieran Tierney is currently fully fit and so Mikel Arteta will have to decide whether Bukayo Saka gets moved to the wing position or continue playing him as a left back hence benching their £25million man. It will be interesting to see what Arteta decides as Sead Kolasinac will also be back by then.

2. AUBAMEYANG KEEPS PLAYING AS A WINGER OR MOVES TO CENTRE FORWARD

Aubameyang has not played as a striker since Mikel Arteta got appointed as the new Arsenal head coach and he did say that he does understand that the Gabon international is not winger but said that he can’t play him in his current position as it would mess up the squad balance.

However, the return of Kieran Tierney has many believe that Saka will be pushed to the left-wing position hence Aubameyang finally playing through the middle where he is very lethal. Aubameyang has still been scoring despite playing on the flank but many experts believe that he would be even more impressive if he played in the centre forward role.

Lacazette and Nketiah have been playing as a striker because Arteta believes that they are better at hold up play than Aubameyang but it’s going to be interesting if he is going to change this and start playing his top scorer in his main position.
