Two saleable players that Arteta can sell to raise funds for Partey’s release clause

Arsenal and Arteta will have to work around the clock to sign Thomas Partey in the summer transfer window since he has a release clause of €50million and so they will need to sell some players.

It is pretty common knowledge that Arsenal will try to sign Thomas Partey in the summer transfer window but it will however will be hard to pull off such a big transfer in the current financial situation of all clubs and so the North Londoners will have to sell some players. We take a look at two players that Mikel Arteta might have to sell to get his no. transfer target Thomas Partey and the interest seems to be genuine as even his father confirmed it.

Arsenal will obviously have a small budget in the summer due to losing massive income due to matches being played behind doors and so they will have to sell some players to raise funds to activate Partey’s release clause of €50million. Here are two players that Arteta would easily let go.

1. AINSLEY MAITLAND-NILES

Ainsley Maitland-Niles is an Arsenal academy product and he has played a lot of senior football in the last two years due to the gunners having a few options in the right back position but he has however been complaining how he feels that is not his best position as he prefers to play in central midfield. Maitland-Niles was impressive in the first matches under Arteta but he however told the Arsenal boss that he isn’t comfortable there hence him getting sidelined for a long time as he is no longer making it to the matchday squads.

Maitland-Niles is 22 years old and English and so the North Londoners will be hoping to get a good amount from him in the summer transfer window since he is very replaceable.

2. LUCAS TORREIRA

Lucas Torreira arrived at Arsenal in 2018 and he was very impressive in the first months at the club but he has however shown that he is home sick as his agent recently even said that the Uruguayan international would be hoping to return to Italy. The gunners are reported to have paid atleast more than £20million for him and they will probably get a lot more from him since his value has certainly doubled.

Torreira is an amazing defensive midfielder but he is however someone who might not suit Arteta’s philosophy since he is not great with the ball and Partey could be coming to the Emirates Stadium to replace him since they have some similarities but with the Ghananian international being better.
