Arsenal striker and captain Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has only scored three goals in the Premier League this season and he has in the last few months received criticism from the fans for this poor start to the campaign but he has however made a promise to the gooners ahead of their game against Crystal Palace.

Arsenal striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang ended his goal drought in the Emirates FA Cup match against Newcastle United when he finished off a cross from Kieran Tierney and the fans hope that this will be the start to his rise to his old form of the last two seasons which saw him score over 40 league goals. Aubameyang finished the season with 22 goals last season and the gunners would have never expected the Gabon international to go from that to only get three goals in the first six months of the new season.

Arsenal will this week face Crystal Palace at the Emirates Stadium and Aubameyang recently talked about his poor goal scoring form and made a promise to the fans saying that he will turn this around despite their worries.

“From the beginning of this season I was struggling a lot but I think this is part of football.” Aubameyang told Sky Sports.

“We gave a lot at the end of the season to win the FA Cup and to qualify for the Europa League because it was really important for the club.”

“Sometimes you have ups and downs and you have to manage as best you can. I tried my best and until now it was not the best performance from me. I’m still positive. I think I can turn this around.”

It will be interesting to see if Aubameyang will start in Arsenal’s game against Crystal Palace as most currently believe that Alexandre Lacazette has been the better centre forward in recent games but the 31 year old can still be deployed on the wing to accommodate them both.
