Ramsdale reveals the revolutionary ways that Arteta motivates Arsenal players
Arsenal have been outstanding this season and goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale has opened up about the revolutionary ways that Arteta motivates them.
Arsenal goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale has opened up about the innovative team talks of their manager Mikel Arteta. According to Ramsdale, Arteta comes up with unique ways to motivate his players before games, including playing games like dodgeball and spot the difference on TV.
Ramsdale revealed that Arteta’s approach is aimed at getting the players to switch on before the game and make sure they are living and breathing football even when they are resting. The goalkeeper also praised Arteta’s “clock one” idea, saying that while not all things work, he can see the benefits of what the manager is trying to achieve.
“He comes up with these things to try to get us going. We play games in the hotel, sometimes it can be dodgeball, sometimes it can be spot the difference on the TV to get our brains working.” said Ramsdale as per ESPN.
“It is just his way of trying to make us to switch on before the game, before the warm-up, making sure we’re living & breathing football when we’re resting. The clock one was another genius idea. Not all things work, but what he’s trying to get out of it, I definitely get to see the benefits of it.”
Arsenal is currently in a title race as they sit at the top of the Premier League table with 69 points after 28 games. However, they are closely followed by second-placed Manchester City, who have 61 points plus a game in hand.
Arteta’s innovative approach to team talks could be one of the reasons why Arsenal is performing so well this season. The Gunners have won 20 out of their 28 league games so far and have only lost five times. They also have one of the best defensive records in the league, having conceded just 18 goals.
Arteta has been praised for his tactical nous and ability to get his players to buy into his philosophy. He has also shown a willingness to give young players a chance, which has resulted in breakthrough seasons for Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Martinelli.
The Spaniard took over as Arsenal manager in December 2019 and has since led them to two trophies – an FA Cup and a Community Shield. He will be hoping to add more silverware this season as Arsenal look to win their first Premier League title since 2004.
In conclusion, Arteta’s innovative team talks could be one of the factors behind Arsenal’s success this season. His ability to get his players motivated and focused before games has helped them to perform at a high level consistently. With the title race heating up, Arteta’s approach could prove to be the difference between winning and losing.
