Mikel Arteta reveals whether he listens to Arsenal fans on lineups and tactics
Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has opened up on whether public opinion of supporters is one of the drivers that makes him do decisions concerning the squad.
Mikel Arteta, the Arsenal manager, has opened up on whether he listens to the public reaction and has it on his mind. In a recent interview, he stated that he does not pay attention to what people say each week as it would distract him from doing his best for the team.
Arsenal is currently in a title race, sitting at the top of the Premier League table with 72 points after 29 games. However, they are closely followed by second-placed Manchester City, which has 67 points. Despite their impressive performance, Arteta remains focused on his job and does not let the public’s opinion distract him.
He stated, “No, because if I have to think what people are going to think each week, I will do something else. I do my best, my best for the team. That’s all I can do.” as per Yahoo Sports.
Arteta is aware of the fickle nature of football fans and how quickly public opinion can change based on results. He added, “But as well people told me: ‘You did that, it was incredible’. It’s incredible if you win. If you lose it’s terrible. Tomorrow if you play with a back six, if we win: ‘Haha, magician’. If not: ‘What the hell are you doing? Why did you change things?’ The results.”
The Arsenal manager’s focus on his job has paid off so far this season. Under his leadership, Arsenal has shown significant improvement in their performances and results. The team’s performances have been consistent, and they have only lost five games in the league so far.
Despite Arsenal’s success this season, Arteta remains grounded and focused on the task at hand. He understands that football is a game of results and that public opinion can be fickle based on those results. However, he also knows that his job is to do his best for the team, and that is what he will continue to do.
In conclusion, Mikel Arteta’s focus on his job and disregard for public opinion has been a significant factor in Arsenal’s success this season. His leadership has been instrumental in the team’s improved performances, and he will undoubtedly continue to do his best for the team as they aim to win the Premier League title.
