Arsenal star to reportedly miss pre-season tour due to severe injury

Arsenal’s hopes of having Takehiro Tomiyasu back in action for the start of the new season have been dealt a blow, with fears that the Japanese defender could be out for much longer than expected. Tomiyasu suffered a serious knee injury in March, and while Mikel Arteta has expressed hope that he will be fit for pre-season, The Telegraph reports that there are concerns he may not be ready to return until later in the year.

This news will come as a disappointment to Arsenal fans, who have been impressed by Tomiyasu since his arrival from Bologna two seasons back. The 22-year-old has made a number appearances for the Gunners this season, playing primarily at right-back.
