Arteta opens up on possibly using Rice, Havertz and Odegaard trio next season
Arsenal used the trio of Havertz, Rice and Martin Odegaard in a friendly match and Mikel Arteta has spoken out on possibly using them like that next season.

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has expressed his optimism about the midfield trio of Kai Havertz, Declan Rice, and Martin Odegaard, despite their recent defeat against Manchester United in a friendly match in the USA. The Gunners lost the game 2-0 but Arteta believes that with time and more game time together, the trio will improve and become dominant.
“When they play 55 times together they will be better. It will flow better, they will understand each other better and will be more dominant and better. But it takes time to glide and we have to respect that,” Arteta told Arsenal’s official website.
Although the result was disappointing, Arteta saw a lot of positive aspects in their performance against Manchester United compared to their previous victory against MLS. He believes that there are things he likes much more about their play, indicating that there is potential for improvement.

In this summer transfer window, Arsenal has been active in bolstering their squad. They have completed the signing of 24-year-old attacking midfielder Kai Havertz from Chelsea for a fee of £65 million. Havertz is highly regarded for his technical skills and versatility on the field, making him an exciting addition to Arsenal’s midfield.
Additionally, Arsenal secured the services of 22-year-old defender Jurrien Timber from Ajax in a deal worth €40 million plus €5 million add-ons. Timber is known for his defensive prowess and ability to read the game well, which will strengthen Arsenal’s backline.
The Gunners also made headlines with their record-breaking transfer of 24-year-old midfielder Declan Rice from West Ham for a staggering £105 million. This transfer marked a significant milestone as it became the highest-ever transfer fee between two British clubs. Rice is considered one of England’s brightest talents in midfield and his arrival adds depth and quality to Arsenal’s squad.
With these three signings, Arsenal has shown ambition in strengthening their team for the upcoming season. The midfield trio of Havertz, Rice, and Odegaard has the potential to become a formidable force in the Premier League. However, as Arteta mentioned, it will take time for them to gel and reach their full potential.
Arsenal fans will be eagerly anticipating the start of the new season to see how these new signings integrate into the team and contribute to their success. Arteta’s belief in their abilities and his emphasis on patience and understanding highlight his long-term vision for Arsenal’s midfield.
As the summer transfer window progresses, Arsenal may continue to make further additions to their squad. The Gunners are determined to compete at the highest level and challenge for major honors in the upcoming season.
