Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has provided an update on the injury of midfielder Declan Rice, who sustained an injury during Arsenal’s 2-2 draw with Tottenham Hotspur last Sunday. Speaking about Rice’s condition, Arteta revealed that the player has not yet returned to training and is still experiencing discomfort.

“He hasn’t trained yet. He could not carry on in the game,” said Arteta telling the media. “Hopefully it’s not something big. We are confident it’s not big, but he is still uncomfortable and had to leave the pitch, which is never a good sign. It’s still doubtful.”

Rice’s injury is a concern for Arsenal, as he has been a key player for the team this season. The midfielder’s absence could potentially impact Arsenal’s upcoming fixtures, including their Carabao Cup third-round match against Brentford on Wednesday night.

Currently sitting in fifth place on the Premier League table with 14 points, Arsenal will be looking to maintain their momentum and secure a victory against Brentford. However, the absence of Rice could pose a challenge for Arteta’s side.

Despite the uncertainty surrounding Rice’s injury, Arteta remains hopeful that it is not a serious issue. Arsenal will be closely monitoring his progress and providing updates as they become available.

In the meantime, Arteta will have to assess his options and make necessary adjustments to the team’s lineup in order to compensate for Rice’s potential absence. The manager will be relying on the depth of his squad to fill the void left by the injured midfielder.

As Arsenal prepares for their upcoming fixtures, fans will be eagerly awaiting further updates on Rice’s condition and hoping for a swift recovery.
