Arsenal legend provides a big message to gooners about the 2023/24 season
The 2023/24 season ended in disappointment for the gunners after losing the title to Manchester City but an Arsenal legend has given a big message to gooners.
Despite falling just short of the Premier League title, Arsenal fans have plenty to be proud of, according to club legend Robert Pires. While the disappointment of finishing second to Manchester City is understandable, Pires believes the team’s performance throughout the season deserves immense praise.
“I am a little bit disappointed, like the players, like Mikel Arteta, like the fans,” Pires admitted, “because they’re doing very well, they play very well during all the season across the ten months.”
He highlighted the significance of their 89 points, a remarkable feat considering the sheer dominance of Manchester City, who have been a force to be reckoned with for years. “To win a trophy is very difficult, very tough. 89 points at the end is not enough,” Pires acknowledged. “That is why Manchester City is very good, very strong. They’ve been a strong team for five or six seasons.”
Pires’ words are a powerful reminder that Arsenal’s journey this season was about far more than just the final result. They challenged the established order, played beautiful football, and rekindled the hope of a title challenge for the first time in years.
“I’m very proud of Arteta and the players and I think we are ready for the next season,” Pires concluded, reaffirming his faith in the team’s future. The next chapter for Arsenal is already promising, fueled by the legacy of this incredible season and the unwavering belief from both players and supporters.
