Arsenal 0-2 Manchester City Match Report, See How It Went!
Arsenal welcomed Manchester City at the Emirates Stadium today and were defeated 2-0 by the visiting side who looked more superior than the gunners.
The Premier League has begun for Arsenal and it starts in a loss for the them at home after Manchester City defeated them 2-0 thanks to two goals from Raheem Sterling and Bernardo Silva.
Unai Emery has finally had his first competitive match but he will go home a disappointed man after his squad showed a horrible performance and his anger could be easily seen on Sunday as he was on the pitch shouting at the players as Pep Guardiola’s men stayed firm, making sure they return to Manchester with all the three points.
The first half started off well for the visitors because they had most of the possession and controlled the match through out the full 45 minutes, including scoring one goal before halftime after Raheem Sterling put the ball into the back of the net, leaving Petr Cech helpless in front of thousands of Arsenal supporters at the Emirates Stadium.
Petr Cech will be one of the talking points of Arsenal fans especially about that moment where he almost put the ball into the back of the net but he will be hoping to bounce back next week when the gunners face Chelsea but he did have a good performance despite letting two goals get past him.
The second half started when the gunners were trailing by one goal but the manager didn’t make any substitution right away as he waited a few minutes before he brought in Alexandre Lacazette who also missed a number of chances which raise many questions about his finishing because he could have done better with those chances.
Bernardo Silva scored the second goal for Manchester City in the 64th minute after firing in a big shot which Petr Cech had no chance of stopping, and the gunners now lost hope of getting back into the match.
Arsenal tried to make a number of chances in the last minutes of the match and Mesut Ozil, and Aubameyang scored two goals which were both disallowed due to the players being offside so the match ended 0-2 in favour of Manchester City.
Unai Emery has been given a welcome to the Premier League by Pep Guardiola so the Arsenal manager will now have to reconsider his strategy because this is not a good start for him.
