The summer transfer window closed two weeks ago but the clubs are now preparing for the transfer business which they will work on in January when the winter transfer window is opened.

Arsenal could be at the risk of losing Nacho Monreal to Spanish giants Barcelona according to Spanish outlet Mundo Deportivo, it claims that the Laliga defending champions are looking to bolster their squad in the defensive area as they hope to keep the league this season.

It will however be hard for Barcelona to get Nacho Monreal because Unai Emery wouldn’t risk letting him go when he knows that it would take him much time to get a suitable replacement who is or would quickly get used to the Premier League because it is the toughest competition in Europe.

It isn’t clear whether Nacho Monreal would consider leaving the gunners for a top Spanish club like Barcelona because he is among those kind of players who aren’t talked about in most transfer windows but the Spanish left back has never said anything about his future at the Emirates Stadium but the Arsenal fans would be happy if he stayed.

Arsenal’s other left back, Sead Kolasinac is currently injured and he however might have recovered by the time the January transfer window opens up, Monreal is still considered to be better than him depending on each performance last season.

Unai Emery will be hoping that Nacho Monreal doesn’t leave in January because there are rumours that he might be allowed by Arsenal to only sign one player because the club currently has big wage budgets due to players like Mesut Ozil who are getting paid huge amounts of money weekly. So it won’t take long to know whether these transfer rumours are true because it’s just three months to the opening of the winter transfer window.
