Qarabag Vs Arsenal match review
Arsenal is in Azerbaijan ahead of their encounter with Qarabag and the gunners will be hoping to get their second Europa League win tomorrow.
Arsenal face Azerbaijan side Qarabag in their second group stage match of the Europa League.
Qarabag are on top of their League and unbeaten while Arsenal are fifth in the Premier League. Emery’s men are currently on a seven game winning streak across all competitions.
The match will be played at 17:55(UK time) and the team that traveled to Baku didn’t have a number of notable players. Henrikh Mkhitaryan opted to stay in London due to the political tension between Armenia and Azerbaijan.
Contract rebel Aaron Ramsey also stayed in London reason being he’s wife is approaching labor time, Aubameyang also didn’t make the team due to an illness alongside usual absentees Konstantinos Mavropanos (groin), Ainsley Maitland-Niles (fractured fibula) and Laurent Koscielny (Achilles).
This will be Arsenal’s sixth match in less than three weeks, so Emery is expected to rotate his starting line-up, giving a chance to fringe players and youngsters. Sead Kolasinac recovered from his injury and should start as well as Bernd Leno who is now fully deputizing for Petr Cech who is ruled out of action for a month.
This will be the first meeting between the two sides as Emery seeks his eighth consecutive victory, Arsenal won four away matches in the 2017/18 Europa League campaign, their joint-most in a single European campaign along with their 2005-06 season in the Champions League.
The Gunners then face Fulham on Sunday afternoon.
