Report: Two reasons why Arteta will block David Luiz’s departure from Arsenal

Arsenal centre back David Luiz has been linked with a move away from the Emirates Stadium in the last few days but Arteta could block this due to two reasons.

There has been some reports in the last 48 hours claiming that Arsenal will not offer David Luiz a new deal hence him leaving the North London club in July. It was reported last year said that Luiz signed a two year deal but it has turned that was a rather one year contract that he was given hence him being expected to leave in July but we take a look at why Mikel Arteta might block this.

Arsenal appointed Mikel Arteta as their new head coach in December last year and the Spaniard has started the Brazilian centre back in most of the Premier League games that he has so far managed. Arteta despite being a head coach will still probably have atleast some input on who stays and so here’s why he could convince the club to offer Luiz an extension.

1. DAVID LUIZ IS ARSENAL’S BEST CENTRE BACK

David Luiz had a very poor start to life as an Arsenal player as he gave away a lot of penalties but that can however be blamed on Unai Emery since he did not implement a good system to shield the centre backs. Luiz has however been very impressive under Arteta as the team seems to be set up according to his strengths and he was done a good job.

Luiz is a great ball playing defender and that is something that Arteta truly values and so be will definitely not want to see someone who is good at what he wants leave just like that. Luiz has proved that he will excel in Arteta’s system as we have seen what he can do as seen in his involvement in Arsenal’s goals against Crystal Palace and Everton where he directly assisted Aubameyang.

Arteta is a huge fan of David Luiz

2. DAVID LUIZ HAS BEEN IMPORTANT FOR ARTETA IN THE DRESSING ROOM

Mikel Arteta is the youngest manager in the Premier League and so players in the Arsenal dressing room seeing a senior player such as David Luiz saying that the Spaniard will soon be one of the best coaches in the world in no time will help in making the whole squad to quickly respect the new boss of the North Londoners.

Luiz has in the last few months shown that he is one of the few leaders in the current Arsenal squad and one might ask if he is the captain if he randomly watches the games of the gunners.
